Ok, so the moral of the story up front is: Always check the signs when you park in New York City.

You see, if you don't...then you might not notice that the block you're parking on was recently changed from "No Standing 7am to 7pm" to "No Standing ANYTIME."

And then your car will get towed and you'll have to walk 10 blocks dragging your equipment behind you. Then you'll have to wait an hour in line and hang around in a facility like this all night:
